The beautiful houses

While, in the middle of last century, Villeneuve-Loubet was only a modest village, it presents an amazing, and for the main part of it, unknown heritage.
The history of this little city starts before our era, in the natural site of Vaugrenier, along the Via Aurelia, where we can find some roman traces. Centuries later, some owners, also enchanted by this place, built some beautiful houses.

Château des Baumettes

Access by RD 6007 then 486, avenue du Dr Lefebvre
Nothing allows us to date the castle in his actual sight.
Different elements, such as the neo-palladian style of the building or the construction materials, allow to situate its construction at the end of the 19th century or at the beginning of the 20th.
After World War II, the castle losts its residential vocation. The construction of a house for children is planned in 1949. It will be realized in 1964 when the Child Benefit Office buys the property.
In 1991, it becomes property of the city and a school is set up in the modern annex.
